HOT-MELT AND CONSTRUCTION GLUES

Gluing belongs to the most advanced and effective methods of joining different materials and this method has been expanding to new areas of application.
Glue manufacturers intensively work on improving quality of glues that correspond to the new areas of application and new production technologies. Although glues are tested in laboratories and reflect practical experience and knowledge from real life, it is always necessary to test suitability of a selected glue under the specific production conditions. Glued joints need to be reviewed according to practical criteria to assess the results. It is also important to reconsider suitability of the routinely used glue in case of modifications in technological processes and changes of the materials to be glued.
In wood-processing and furniture-making industry in particular, it is essential to remember that the process of gluing is affected by several factors – type and size of the material to be glued, moisture and temperature of the material and environment, surface quality, conditions and methods of application and pressing, etc.Choosing a proper glue is a significant condition determining efficiency of production and quality of the final product.
